The Eton Collection was in the spotlight at this years BT Visit London Awards as James Lane, General Manager for The Colonnade and his team won the 'Silver Award' for London's 'Best Small Hotel'

After a rigorous short-listing and exciting evening at the live event at Westfield London which was attended by many of London's top attractions, The Colonnade scooped the award. Commenting on the hotel's success, James Lane, General Manager, says; "We are delighted to have won the silver award for London's 'Best Small Hotel', it is a great accolade for us."

It's officially the start of BST British Summer Time - the clocks move forward this weekend at 1.00 am GMT on Sunday 28 March 2010.

James Lane joins The Eton Collection from The Ritz

New General Manager appointed for The Colonnade, London

The Eton Collection is pleased to announce the appointment of James Lane as the new General Manager of boutique hotel, The Colonnade, in London's Little Venice.

Lane joins from The Ritz where he spent five years gaining valuable experience in all key operational areas of the hotel. In his most recent position as Reception Manager, Lane oversaw the Front Office and was responsible for his own team. Previous roles at The Ritz include three years as the Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage Assistant Manager and Reception Manager. A graduate from Galway Mayo Institute in Ireland, Lane began his career in hotels such as the Waldorf Le Meridien, Aldwych, the Conrad International, Dublin and the Dunraven Arms Hotel, Adare, Ireland .

Commenting on his appointment, "This is a fantastic opportunity.' says Lane "I am looking forward to working with the team to create a dynamic environment for the staff and to ensure that our guests receive the high level of service expected from The Eton Collection.
