Accessible London Hotel

Making your stay at The Colonnade as accessible as possible

Please find outlined below our information. We hope to ensure you enjoy your visit to The Colonnade regardless of whether your life is affected in some way by a medical condition, disability, impairment or specific learning difficulty.

Prior to your arrival

• Enquiries and reservations may be made by phone or email.
• Please notify the hotel of your disability so we can brief all our staff and ensure that you are well looked after, as well as ensuring that we offer you a suitable room, should this be available.
• Should you require a taxi to the hotel from any London airports or train stations, we use a reliable company on a regular basis and we would be delighted to book them on your behalf. They do have vehicles suitable for wheelchairs if required.
• Directions to the hotel can be found on our website and will be sent with your booking confirmation.

On arrival at the hotel

• We have a very small car park adjacent to the hotel from which the reception can be accessed on one level. However please note that the car park would need to be cleared in advance to allow wheelchair access.
• The main entrance to the hotel is from the street and has two small steps, making it unsuitable for wheelchairs.
• We are more than happy to offer any assistance required with steps, as well as help you with your luggage and will collect it from your car and deliver it to your room.

Reception Area

• The floor is carpeted throughout the hotel and is suitable for wheelchairs.
• There is a low level desk available for registration.
• The reception is all on one level.
• We recommend wheelchair users to stay in accommodation on the ground floor for best ease of access.
• One large lift is available to 1st, 2nd & 3rd floors. There is no lift access to the 4th floor which has steep stairs only.

Public Areas

• The corridors are well lit and carpeted.
• Access to the e-bar/breakfast room is unfortunately not accessible by wheelchairs as there is stair access only. We'd be happy to serve your breakfast in your room as an alternative.

Toilets

• There is no designated disabled toilet in the hotel.

Fire Alarm

• The fire alarm system is bells and does not have flashing lights. Assistance is given if evacuation is necessary. Guests should always notify the hotel on arrival so that our staff can be sure to assist in the event of an evacuation.

The e-bar/breakfast room

• There is ample movable seating in the restaurant and bar, but both are accessible by stairs only. We are happy to serve the full range of food and drink to your room for any guests who use a wheelchair.
• The room is well lit, with plenty of natural light

Accommodation

• The majority of the bedrooms are accessible from the lift, excluding those on the lower ground floor and those on the 4th floor. Some of the bedrooms have small stairs within the room. Any guests who use a wheelchair would need to be accommodated on the ground floor.

Additional information

• Service dogs are welcome.
• Small mini bar fridges are available in all bedrooms and if guests would prefer to have the mini bar emptied to accommodate medication, we can arrange this for you.
• We are able to use the front door in the event of evacuation. The bells will ring continuously if evacuation is needed. If you require assistance for evacuating please notify us on arrival.
